I am the proud owner of my independent business Brewstercat Technology Consulting, based in Melbourne, Australia.  

The primary focus for my business is Infrastructure Monitoring, though we can also help with O365 Reporting, Essential 8 and SMB 1001 Cyber Framework maturity, Windows Server Patching and Cyber Security Vulnerability remediation

I have been in the IT industry for nearly 30 years now, in that time building up a wealth of experience working in both IT Manager, Service Delivery and Service Desk Manager roles.  

I have also led several Technical Operations teams in small to medium size companies, in both the Corporate world and in the Victorian Public Service. 

In that time, I found Infrastructure Monitoring to be such a critical component in running a Technology environment, as it delivers massive benefits of visibility, system stability, high uptime, peace of mind and cost savings.

However, unfortunately, in some IT teams, it is totally under-rated and does not get the time or resource dedication it deserves.

That is why I started my own business with a primary focus on Infrastructure Monitoring.

I know some businesses don’t have the luxury of a dedicated IT person to be across all the tech detail.

Some businesses do have an IT team but it's fully stretched putting out fires all day not knowing when or where the next problem may come from.

Other businesses have an IT Managed Services Provider but they may not always be responsive or granular enough.

It is amazing how many times I have seen a Monitoring system find IT issues in advance of them becoming a total drama, to assist in quickly locating the cause of a system performance problem and in detecting what’s gone offline before the customer or staff have realised.   

To be able to swiftly notify the resolver Support team in response to a surprise outage, and thus them being able to more readily restore services is a highly prized advantage in these days of Always-on IT and daily Cyber Security threats.  

I love saving the day so things can get back on track quickly, as I know all too well that to avoid costly downtime or to get onto fixing an unexpected fault as fast as possible is simply business critical. 

If Ransomware has snuck in to encrypt everyone’s files, you want to know Friday night when it started, not Monday morning, right? 

When the 24x7 File server has a failed hard disk, you want to know within 15 minutes, not 4 hours later, yeah?  

And you want to know that the Website SSL security certificate will expire in a month’s time, not that it expired yesterday. I’ve been there. 

When the Database server has both high CPU and Memory use, then drops off the Network at 2:00am Monday morning without warning or reason, I’m sure you want a chance to get that seen to before 9:00am.
